I have packaged last exit with my modification as described in yesterday’s post.
You can just download the package and install it by typing
sudo dpkg -i last-exit_0.2-3_i386.deb or you can add my repository to your sources list and then you’ll automatically get updates when new versions are packaged.
If you want to add my repository open /etc/apt/sources.list in a text editor and add
deb http://www.newspeak.org.uk/repository/ binary/
(note: there is meant to be a space between “…repository/” and “binary/”)
Then type
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install last-exit
last-exit
There are a number of bugs with last exit currently, such as the program segfaulting when you click on the information icon and when you close the program. If you have problems other than those feel free to leave a comment here but please bear in mind that I am not the original software author I have merely packaged it and made a minor alteration.
The information icon works for me, I’m using debian, but its probably some esoteric library versioning issue.

The information button works fine here too (under Ubuntu Dapper). Nice to have a GTK app for Last.Fm, especially since the QT one didn’t handle long song/album/artist names very well (just let the end get cut off by the small unresizable window). Thanks for the debian package.

The info icon only segfaults if there is no stream playing (Ubuntu Dapper).

heyas all.
my 40 gig drive is going to good use now. I have installed UBUNTU and have ordered KUBUNTU.
I dont know how to install the driver for my ati radeon 9600xt.
Actually i dont know if i am meant to be downloading and installing XFREE86 or the XORG version of the driver. I am downloading them both but i dont know how to do anything in Linux really.
I dont know where I am meant to set up my modem or set up a net account. (no INETWIZ.EXE)
So yeah, can someone help me out with getting my ATI driver installed?
and does anyone know of a good long PDF file i can read and wrap my brain around.
I’m still a Windows user, but I want to use Linux as much as possible.
Thanks.
